Nagios on OpenBSD

0

I found this awesome article in the last two issues of BSD Magazine (August and September 2010) on setting up OpenBSD for network monitoring. It appears to be a reprint of an article from Kernel Panic. This will probably be my next major project.

If you’ve never checked out Kernel Panic they have some really useful articles on OpenBSD, Linux, security, programming, etc.

OpenBSD just announced this week that it’s taking pre-orders for 4.8. Be sure to get your copy. The official release date is November 1, 2010.

Update: I just got an email yesterday saying that my CD set has been sent. The time is close!

BSD Forever is now back on OpenBSD once again. I had been running the site for a little while on a FreeBSD server. A friend told me about a great dedicated hosting company called Core Networks. I’ve been really happy with these guys and they offer all the BSDs and anything else you could want. If they don’t have it they offer the option of installing your own OS yourself over KVM. They’re also really quick at responding to any questions or issues you might be having. Check these guys out if you’re looking for cheap hosting. They’re even cheaper than most VPS hosting providers.
